Oh-so-biased (July 1 Draft Kit update)

Here are some of the major moves we made.

UP

  • Donte Whitner, DB, Buf - No, we're still not as high on Whitner as other IDP services. But it looks like he'll play some FS this year, and that can only help his weak big play totals.
  • Haloti Ngata, DL, Bal - The more we ponder Ngata, the more we think he's about to break out.
  • Gerris Wilkinson, LB, NYG - We're not too worried about his health, and we're convinced the Giants want him to win his training camp battle with Danny Clark.
  • Darren Sharper, DB, Minn - Hmmm...that upgraded Vikings pass rush might just give more INT opportunities to this aging ballhawk.
  • Richard Seymour, DL, NE - No, he's not going to be an IDP superstar. But he's fully healthy for the first time in 3 years, so we're thinking he'll put up some retro numbers.
  • Sammy Knight, DB, NYG - His weak 2nd half of 2007 scared us, but we've decided he's not washed up after all. Old safeties have always appealed to us, anyway.
  • Nick Barnett, LB, GB - He and A.J. Hawk will blitz more this year.
  • Adam Jones, DB, Dal - The CB formerly known as Pac Man has been looking awfully good, putting Anthony Henry's starting job in jeopardy. However, Henry will still see the field at safety, relieving Roy Williams on passing downs.

DOWN

  • Tyjuan Hagler, LB, Ind - A torn pectoral muscle will shelve him for the start of the season.
  • Josh Bullocks, DB, NO - The knee is not coming along very well. Playmaker Kevin Kaesviharn waits in the wings.
  • Larry Foote, LB, Pit - Foote is hearing the footsteps of Lawrence Timmons.
  • Bradie James, LB, Dal - He's not going to see the field on 3rd downs anymore. Just as well. He might hurt himself in pass coverage.
  • Brett Keisel, DL, Pit - Aaron Smith is coming along faster than expected.
