IDPBlitz Hall of Fame - DL Wing
Defensive linemen inducted into the IDPBlitz Hall of Fame, alphabetized by
last name, with their year of entry:
Bruce Smith (2006)
Smith was the leading overall vote-getter in the inaugural Hall of Fame class,
so he was as dominant in the balloting as he was on the field. And on the
fantasy football field. Smith was a constant producer for fantasy teams
throughout the 90's and early 00's. Especially if you were an opponent, it
seemed like Smith generated a sack or more every week.
Key stats:
- 200 career sacks (all-time NFL leader)
- 13 seasons of 10+ sacks (all-time NFL leader)
- 5 seasons of 14+ sacks
- 5 seasons of 50+ solo tackles
Michael Strahan (2006)
Not only was Strahan a tremendous sack threat, but his IDP consistency was high
because of his tackles. Strahan played the run so well that he nearly always
posted high tackle totals for a DL. Strahan was also extremely durable, with
2004 the only season in which he missed significant time.Key stats:
- 129.5 career sacks (active career leader)
- All-time single season record of 22.5 sacks
- 6 seasons of 10+ sacks
