IDPBlitz Hall of Fame - DB Wing

Defensive backs inducted into the IDPBlitz Hall of Fame, alphabetized by last name, with their year of entry:

Rodney Harrison (2006)

Harrison was the leading vote-getter in the inaugural 2006 class. Harrison had two things going for him: his total stats package, and his style of play. Fantasy owners could rely on Harrison to find a way to put up points, whether with tackles, sacks or interceptions. Harrison was as well-rounded of a DB as you could find, and it was a rare week when he didn't reward his owners. Also, fantasy owners loved his aggressive style. Harrison was regularly fined by the league for his aggressive play. One of his most infamous plays was a dive at Trent Green's legs during a preseason blitz, which tore Green's ACL and cost him the season.

Key stats:

  • 7 seasons of 89+ solo tackles
  • 31 career interceptions, including 6 in 2000
  • 27.5 sacks, including 6 in 2000
  • 6 seasons of 20+ assists

Rod Woodson (2006)

For total productivity as well as longevity, it's hard to beat Rod Woodson. He compiled some of the top interception numbers in NFL history and did it with 3 teams and 2 positions. Woodson started his career as a CB in Pittsburgh, later moved to Baltimore, and finished as a FS in Oakland. Wherever he was, Woodson cranked out the stats for IDP owners. At times, he was considered the best defensive player in the NFL.

Key stats:

  • 71 career interceptions, including 10 seasons of 4+
  • 12 interception TDs (all-time NFL leader)
  • All-time NFL leader in yards gained on interception returns
  • 8 seasons of 60+ solo tackles
