Heroes and Zeroes of Week 6
Mike Harrison

I don't know how may of you noticed, but IDP stats were way down this week. Tackles were much lower than usual with only 2 double-digit solo artists, and unlike every previous week if you made 2 big plays this week you earned a Hero status. Unfortunately Goats were very easy to find.

Scoring a touchdown on a big play were Thomas Howard on an interception return, and Daryl Smith, Charles Woodson and Jason Hatcher, each with a fumble return.

Heroes Last Week's Stats Comments
Shaun Phillips, SD 7 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks, 1 fumble forced Poor Daunte' Culpepper was just swarmed under by the vicious Charger rush.
Shawne Merriman, SD 4 tackles, 2 assists, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass defensed Shawne played wingman to Phillips as they led the Chargers to a drubbing of Oakland.
Julius Peppers, CAR 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1.5 sacks, 2 fumbles forced, 1 fumble recovered It's high time for the premier linemen in the league to be heard from.  Last week Jason Taylor hit the Hero list, this time its Julius with a typical great game.
Deke Cooper, CAR 6 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed Cooper combined with Peppers to torment Kurt Warner in the Panthers' easy victory.
Jared Allen, KC 2 tackles, 1 assist, 2.5 sacks, 1 fumble forced Jared tied Merriman as the Sackmeister of the week with his 2.5 QB bags.
Sammy Knight, JAC 12 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble forced Sammy was the top tackler of the week - one of only 2 to make the Hero list.
Sean Taylor, WAS 3 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4 passes defensed, 1 fumble forced Sean was the top ballhawk of the week as he knocked down many of Favre's best efforts and stole a couple to boot.
Aaron Kampman, GB 8 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks Aaron led the Packer D in a close win over Washington.
Zach Thomas, MIA 10 tackles, 2 assists The Browns offensive explosion allowed Zach to pile up plenty of his specialty.
Ben Leber, MIN 3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed There were 65 points scored in the Viking-Bear match but Ben did his best to shut down Chicago.
Roman Harper, NO 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass defensed The Saints are back and so is Roman.
Zeroes Last Week's Stats Comments
Marlon McCree, SD 1 tackle The Hero pair of Shaun and Shawne didn't leave anything for Marlon to get his mitts on.
Adalius Thomas, NE 1 tackle A strange game for the Patriot defense as they combined for only 27 solos against Dallas.  And Adalius only managed one - blahhh.
Jarvis Green, NE 1 assist Gee - 1 whole assist.  Where was Jarvis all day?
Karlos Dansby, ARI 1 tackle There seems to be at least one of these a week.  Karlos was the latest Hero-to-Zero as he followed up last week's nice game with a stinker. He left in the 1st quarter with an injury, so we'll need to keep an eye on that situation.
Napoleon Harris, KC 1 tackle Napoleon did almost no conquering with his single hit.
Amobi Okoye, HOU 1 tackle A Hero earlier, Amobi has come back to earth a little and put up a Zero effort Sunday.
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, GB 1 assist It's always all-or-nothing for Kabeer.  Unfortunately, this was a nothing.
LaRon Landry, WAS 1 tackle, 1 assist LaRon and his brother Dawan are playing tag as they have alternated Zeroes for 3 weeks now.  This time it's LaRon's turn.
Charles Tillman, CHI 1 tackle, 1 pass defensed Although Charles played, he was limited by his bad ankle.
Will Smith, NO blanked Like the rest of the Saints, Will got off to a slow start.  Unfortunately, he just got slower as he failed to record a stat against the outstanding LT, Walter Jones, and justified his Week 6 Dud rating.  This is his third Zero of the season.
