Heroes and Zeroes of Week 10
Ok - bye weeks are over now so expect Heroes to score even higher in weeks to
come, IDP-lovers! As for Sunday, there were plenty of tackles and big plays for
our Heroes, but even more Zeroes than usual. E.J. Henderson reached double
digits in tackles but wasn't a Hero. Neither were double sackers Kabeer
Gjaba-Biamila, Rod Coleman, Clint Session or Tim Crowder.
For the first time in quite a while no one returned an interception for a TD.
Gary Brackett scored on a fumble recovery, Nate Webster and Ken Lucas returned
fumbles for TDs, Bernard Pollard got a safety on a blocked punt, and Chris
Kelsay scored a safety on a Cleo Lemon sack.

Heroes |
Last Week's Stats |
Comments |
|
Antonio Cromartie, SD |
6 tackles, 3 interceptions, 4 passes defensed |
Antonio had a huge game as the Chargers lucked out a win in a game they
should have taken easily. 2 times on the Hero list in 3 weeks - pretty
impressive for hiim. |
|
Clinton Hart, SD |
10 tackles, 1 assist, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed |
Hart had a lot of heart as he cleaned up what Cromartie left. After they
were done there was very little left for the rest of the Bolts D. |
|
Adewale Ogunleye, CHI |
6 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 fumble forced |
Adewale was the Sacker of the Week with his trio of bags. His previous
appearances in our weekly listings were Zeroes. If you followed Cecil's
Studs and Duds recommendation you played him since Our Leader rated him as
his top Sleeper at DL. |
|
Gibril Wilson, NYG |
10 tackles, 4 assists, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed |
Hard to believe that this is Gibril's first Hero of the season. |
|
Calvin Pace, ARI |
6 tackles, 1 assist, 1.5 sacks, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovered |
Calvin didn't pace himself at all as he was all over the field and made many
big plays. |
|
Karlos Dansby, ARI |
4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed, 1 fumble forced |
As predicted by Cecil in last week's Studs and Duds, Karlos made plenty of
big plays in leading the Cardinals to a big upset. |
|
Mike Peterson, JAC |
9 tackles, 5 assists, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble recovered |
Mike was like a heat-seeking missile as he seemed to be in on every play. |
|
Reggie Hayward, JAC |
3 tackles, 2 assists, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble forced |
Reggie combined with Peterson to lead the Jags to a key AFC South win over
Tennessee. |
|
Eric Wright, CLE |
12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defensed |
Eric was the tackler of the week as he almost led the Browns to an upset. |
|
Derrick Johnson, KC |
11 tackles, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble forced |
Plenty of tackles plus an interception made naming Derrick a Hero an easy
decision. |

Zeroes |
Last Week's Stats |
Comments |
|
Dwight Freeney, IND |
1 tackle |
Freeney didn't help much as the Colts lost to SD in a really weird game. |
|
Mark Anderson, CHI |
1 assist, 1 pass defensed |
This makes Anderson's third Zero listing and he's yet to earn a Hero. |
|
Justin Tuck, NYG |
1 assist |
If you think Tuck's line is familiar it's because it matches his last line
before the Giants bye last week. 2 Zeroes in a row based on a single
assist, not good. |
|
Gerald Hayes, ARI |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
Good thing Arizona didn't him to make plays because Hayes didn't. |
|
Adrian Wilson, ARI |
1 tackle |
How the mighty have fallen! Is Wilson's injury still bothering him? This
is his second Zero in a row. |
|
Madieu Williams, CIN |
1 assist |
Mon Dieu, Madieu! One whole assist? For shame! |
|
Julius Peppers, CAR |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
Julius has slipped an awful lot this season. This marks his fourth Zero
listing against a single Hero. |
|
Deke Cooper, CAR |
1 tackle |
Cooper got deked out the entire afternoon. |
|
LaRon Landry, WAS |
1 assist |
Landry is "winning" the Zero battle with his brother Dawan. This makes 3
for him. But he's also had 2 Heroes. Maybe consistency will come next
year. |
|
Matt Roth, MIA |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
Roth suffered an injured groin in the second quarter and did not return. |
|
Darren Sharper, MIN |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
We're more used to seeing Sharper on the Hero list - he's been there twice
so far. This was his first Zero. |
|
Aaron Kampman, GB |
1 tackle |
The Pack shut out Minnesota without needing any help from Kampman. Good
thing - he didn't give them any. |
