Heroes and Zeroes of Week 11
Mike Harrison

Not hard to tell that byes are over! Puh-lenty of big plays and tackles made limiting the Heroes to 10 quite difficult - impossible, even. Unfortunately Zeroes were even easier to find. Our 10 weekly losers combined for a total of one whole, entire tackle. Antrel Rolle had the line of the week with his 3 interceptions, 2 of which he returned for touchdowns, as well as other plays.

Eric Green and Shaun Phillips were double-digit tacklers who weren't Heroes, while Chris Clemons, Robaire Smith and Greg White each had 2 sacks but was left off. Scoring was down a bit. Besides Rolle, Ray Lewis and Brodney Pool returned picks for TDs, while Ronde' Barber and Ellis Hobbs scored off a fumble return.

Heroes Last Week's Stats Comments
Antrel Rolle, ARI 3 tackles, 1 assist, 3 interceptions, 3 passes defensed, 2 touchdowns As noted above Antrel was the Hero of the Week with his huge day.
Michael Strahan, NYG 5 tackles, 1 assist, 3 sacks Michael celebrated his thirty-sixth birthday a couple of days early in leading New York to a key victory over the Lions.
Channing Crowder, MIA 12 tackles Channing tied Ray Lewis as the Tackler of the Week.
Jason Allen, MIA 6 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed Jason's efforts combined with Crowder's weren't enough as the Dolphins increased their perfect record to 0-10.
Ray Lewis, BAL 12 tackles, 4 assists, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble recovered, 1 touchdown Another blast from the past!  Ray turned back the clock with a performance as good as any he's ever had.  Unfortunately it came in a critical loss for the Ravens.
Chris Hovan, TB 3 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed Chris led the Buccaneers to a shellacking of the hapless Falcons.
Corey Williams, GB 4 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 fumbles forced There are 55 Williams on NFL rosters.  Corey was the best of them with his fine performance.
Bryant Young, SF 3 tackles, 1 assist, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass defensed Another oldie but goodie had a top day as Bryant led the 49'er D to a fine performance.  Unfortunately it wasn't enough as San Fran lost a close match against the Rams.
Shaun Ellis, NYJ 4 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovered Shaun definitely was not one of the dead as he roamed all over in a surprising Jets victory.
Dewayne Robertson, NYJ 3 tackles, 2 assists, 2.5 sacks Dewayne combined with Ellis in leading the Jets D to a huge upset over the Steelers.
Patrick Kerney, SEA 5 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 pass defensed, 1 fumble forced Patrick matched Strahan as Sackman of the Week with his 3 bags.
Zeroes Last Week's Stats Comments
Osi Umenyiora, NYG 1 assist He played like a decoy.  The Lions spent the day double and triple teaming him while leaving Strahan open on the other side.  Not a good idea.
Mathias Kiwanuka, NYG 1 assist Kiwanuka broke his leg on the second play from scrimmage and didn't return.
Aaron Ross, NYG blanked Ross totally disappeared.
Lito Sheppard, PHI 1 pass defensed Lito played like a lost sheep as he never got a whiff of a ball-carrier.
Jason Taylor, MIA 1 tackle Here's our one denizen on the Zero list who managed a tackle.  Big deal.  Taylor's been on this list too often for a quality player.
Antonio Cromartie, SD blanked His hot run came to a quick end for Cromartie even though he started again in place of Jammer.
Eric Wright, CLE blanked Wright sprained his knee and missed most of the game.
Rod Coleman, ATL blanked Coleman injured both an arm and a hand and sat on the bench for the rest of the contest.
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, GB blanked As always, it's all or nothing for KGB.  Snake eyes this week so a big Zero for him.
Bradie James, DAL 3 assists This is a whole big zero score in Big Play leagues.
