I'm sure (Terrell Owens) knows who I am.

-- Jets CB Darrelle Revis
|

|
N.Y. Jets rookie CB Darrelle Revis thinks Terrell Owens knows who he is now
after holding the All-World Cowboy WR to 6 catches and 65 yards in the Jets
latest loss. Prior to the game Owens claimed he'd never heard of him.
The Jets first round draft choice did foul up one play as he allowed Owens to
catch a TD pass after the latest Jets loss was well out of hand. "I was mad"
Revis told Dennis Waszak, Jr. of the Associated Press. "I played him well the
whole game and at the end, I just slipped up on the pass. He got me and I was
upset."
Certainly the Jets aren't upset with Revis. He's been one of only a few
bright spots in their dismal 2-9 season. After a long training camp holdout he
proved a quick study and won a starting spot before the opener.
He's had some understandable lapses in going up against top players like
Owens, Chad Johnson and Randy Moss each week but has played well overall. Second
on the Jets with a total of 68 tackles (58 solos and 10 assists) he's also
picked off one interception and had 11 passes defensed.
Said Revis with a grin, "I'm sure (Owens) knows who I am. I mean, we played
against each other, he's a great receiver and I hope he thinks I'm a good
corner."
Fantasy Note: Perhaps Owens knows who Revis is, perhaps not. But
Jets fans do, and so do his fantasy owners, who can look forward to many more
years of fine cornerback play from one of the top 2007 IDP rookies.

 Keep eating the same breakfast.

|
-- Seahawks HC Mike Holmgren, to DE Patrick Kerney
|
|
|
After his 3 sack Redskins game, Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney mused about how
sacks tend to come in bunches. One week later, Kerney has a big bunch after
grabbing another hat trick against the Rams. That makes 7 sacks for him in 3
games, the first time he's done that since 2004 with the Falcons. Typically, the low-key Kerney was humble about his accomplishments. "I'm just
able to reap the benefits of everybody else's hard work; sacks are a team thing
and lately I've just been the beneficiary," Kerney told Dave Boling of the
Seattle News-Tribune. "It's been a great job by our coverage and by the
defensive line pinning the guy in for me."
Kerney's big day wasn't limited to the sacks. He also had 7 tackles, an
interception, a pass defensed and forced a fumble. His teammates and coaches
were unsparing in their appreciation.
"We're glad he's on our team" said 'hawks LB Julian Peterson. "He's a
big-motor guy who is a real team leader, too." When asked what had gotten into
Kerney lately, Mike Holmgren chimed in, "Whatever it is, keep eating the same
breakfast. He had a marvelous game. We needed every one of his big plays."
Fantasy Note: So what
is Kerney eating for breakfast anyway? Is it Wheaties, the Breakfast of
Champions? Perhaps it's Pep? Or maybe Cap'n Crunch? Guess it'll remain a
mystery, but Kerney's ability is no mystery as one of the top defensive ends in
the NFL.

Bullet Points, Injury Update and Otherwise:
- The Colts have released DE Simeon Rice just 2 weeks after signing him.
- The Cardinals placed CB Eric Green on injured reserve with a torn groin. S
Adrian Wilson will undergo surgery on his right heel and is done for the
season.
- The Patriots put LB Roosevelt Colvin on injured reserve. His injury is
unclear. Coach Bill Belichick was even more stingy than usual with injury
news. When questioned as to what the injury was, he said, "It was announced as
a foot? Then we'll leave it with that".
- Cowboys CB Anthony Henry fully participated in practice and is expected to
start Thursday's game with the Packers.
- Packers CB Charles Woodson is receiving "around the clock" treatment on
the toe he injured against the Lions but his availability for Thursday's game
is doubtful.
- Jags rookie LB Justin Durant played well in his first start filling in for
the injured Mike Peterson, picking up 9 tackles, 1 interception and 1 pass
defensed. Peterson is out indefinitely with a broken right hand.
- Bill DE Chris Kelsay aggravated his ankle sprain in the loss to
Jacksonville and is expected to miss Sunday's game. He added a severe bone
bruise and has to wear a protective boot. Kelsay missed practice on Wednesday.
