Heroes and Zeroes of Week 15
Mike Harrison
Our heroes got back on the bike this week, fans! After a really down week for IDPs in week 14,
Sunday saw plenty of sacks, interceptions and tackles piled up by our favorites. Mario Williams'
sacks and Nick Barnett's sacks and tackles tied them for Hero of the Week. Even though we
expanded Heroes to 12, plenty of worthies failed to make the grade. Double digit tacklers Keith
Brooking, Lawyer Milloy and Freddie Keiaho and double sacker Brent Hawkins would have been
Heroes in many weeks. Putting up scores were Eugene Wilson, Ronde Barber and Shaun Phillips with
interception returns for 6, and David Bowens who blocked a punt and returned it for a TD.

| Adalius Thomas, NE |
8 tackles, 1 assist, 1.5 sacks, 2 fumbles forced |
Adalius combined with Seau to lead the Pats as they ground
out a W over the Jets. |
| Junior Seau, NE |
7 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks |
A great blast from the past! Remember when Junior used
to put up this kind of game routinely? |
| David Thornton, TEN |
8 tackles, 2 assists, 1 interception, 1 pass defensed |
David made sure the Titans stayed in playoff contention with
a fine effort against Kansas City. |
| Mario Williams, HOU |
5 tackles, 2 assists, 3.5 sacks |
The Sackman of the Week kept the surprising Texans in
playoff contention with their big W over Denver. |
| O. J. Atogwe, STL |
4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed |
This O.J. had a good week - unfortunately his team didn't. |
| Nick Barnett, GB |
13 tackles, 2 sacks |
Nick tied for top Tackler of the Week and added 2 sacks for
good measure. It's no wonder GB won so easily. |
| Atari Bigby, GB |
3 tackles, 1 assist, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed |
Atari bounced around like a video game hero as he made plays
all over the field. |
| Scott Fujita, NO |
7 tackles, 3 assists, 2 sacks, 1 fumble forced |
The Saints still have a decent shot at the playoffs.
Scott led the D that made that possible. |
| Kevin Gregg, BAL |
11 tackles, 1 sack |
Kevin never stopped coming - but his efforts went for naught
as the Ravens gave up Miami's first win of the season. |
| Jason Taylor, MIA |
4 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass defensed, 1 blocked kick |
Jason had a lull earlier in the year but has come back
strong. His fine effort helped the Dolphins to finally get off the
schneid. |
| Andre Carter, WAS |
4 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 fumble forced |
The Giants played like stumblebums, and Andre was there to
help them stumble. |
| Gerald Alexander, DET |
13 tackles, 2 assists |
With all the plays that San Diego put up someone had to pile
up some tackles. Gerald was the man. |

| Kyle Vanden Bosch, TEN |
1 tackle |
The grotesque artist Hieronymus Bosch painted many gruesome
scenes of hell. Gruesome and grotesque - good descriptions of Vanden
Bosch's effort. |
| Clint Ingram, JAC |
blanked |
Ingram didn't appear in the box score - and you hardly found
him on the field, either. |
| Ian Gold, DEN |
1 tackle |
His owners had struck gold the last few weeks but hit fool's
gold yesterday. |
| Elvis Dumervil, DEN |
1 tackle |
Another occurrence of Elvis not being in the building.
There have been far too many of those in the season's second half. |
| Leon Williams, CLE |
1 tackle |
There are 55 players with the last name of Williams in the
NFL. Leon tied for most ineffective on defense. |
| Corey Williams, GB |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
And Corey's the other half of the Williams defensive
disconnection. |
| Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, GB |
blanked |
KGB came up with his second straight poor effort as he
wasted a great match up against the O-lineless Rams. |
| Greg Ellis, DAL |
1 assist |
Ellis finally put up a stinker after a string of solid
efforts. |
| DeWayne White, DET |
1 tackle, 1 assist |
White had loads of chances to make plays as the Chargers
hung up 75 plays and 51 points on Detroit. Too bad he seemed to forget
how. |
| Osi Umenyiora, NYG |
blanked |
Umenyiora played like the entire Giants team - a bunch of
sleepwalkers. |
