The Origins of IDPBlitz
Cecil Taylor
Like most great ideas, IDPBlitz was born out of need. After a decade of
playing IDP fantasy football and not finding the defensive player information I
craved, I finally decided to start my own web site, devoted strictly to
individual defensive players. I wanted a site that IDP owners would find and
say, "Finally! This is what I've been looking for!"
So I launched IDPBlitz in 2005 with a singular focus on IDP. With my
colleagues (like me, longtime and proven IDP league champions), I have tried to
create a site that mirrors the attention that offensive players get. Honestly,
it's harder to create IDPBlitz than a site devoted to offense, because the
relevant information is harder to find. But we glean the information from every
source possible to give you the same quality you've come to expect from
offense-oriented sites.
That's why we believe our IDP focus serves you better than the web sites that
only dabble in IDP on the side. Anyone can create rankings. Anyone can make it
look like they're paying attention to IDP. But we believe that we go several
levels deeper in our research, measuring trends, studying matchups, examining
statistics that never occurred to our competitors. And we back it up by publicly
measuring our work, not just to brag, but primarily to put pressure on ourselves
to improve. We're always scrutinizing what we predict to see where we make
mistakes and to bring our quality even higher.
Thanks for reading IDPBlitz. We welcome your suggestions on making it better.
We're not as well-monied or well-staffed as the huge fantasy sites, but we work
hard and do what we can to make this the best site for you.
